Opening the gate to Bronte Lodge is like turning a key that unlocks Nelson's many attractions: guided hunting and fishing, winter skiing, craft, pottery and wine trails, cafes and top class restaurants serving the finest local seafood and wines.

Nelson: Ten minutes drive from Bronte Lodge are two restaurants. It is a twenty-minute drive to the airport; thirty minutes to Nelson city.

Picton is two hours away by car to connect with North Island ferry services.

Birds: Tasman Bay's high tidal range creates an ever-changing scene between high and low water. On the nearby feeding grounds you will see some exceptional birdlife.

The two rarest of our waders are the kotuku (white heron), and the kotuku-ngutu-papa (royal spoonbill). The eastern bar-tailed godwits visit each year from Siberia and Alaska. You are also likely to see pied shags, blue herons, grey herons, terns and oystercatchers. Binoculars and reference books supplied.
