Built a century ago, Cavendish is located in Stanmore, an area that was popular for the burgeoning successful mercantile class, prior to the opening up of the North Shore following the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Consequently, Stanmore retains quite a gracious atmosphere, mixed with a modern cosmopolitan buzz of apartment development beginning in the 1970s. The growing population of young professionals, academics and artists are drawn to the inner west of Stanmore, Newtown and Leichhardt, because of their proximity to the Sydney CBD, University of Sydney, RPA Hospital and the local Newtown High School of the Performing Arts.

Cavendish is close to the neighbouring suburbs of Enmore, Newtown, Petersham, Leichhardt and Annandale. Just a short walk can take you to the restaurants of Newtown and Enmore, Little Portugal at Petersham, or Little Italy's Leichhardt.

Cinemeas are close by in Leichhardt at the Palace, or in Newtown at the Dendy. Also close by is Enmore Theatre, a popular venue for a variety of varied live acts.

Cavendish will sleep up to 8 adults in three bedrooms. The configuration is two bedrooms with kingsize beds, that can be converted to two king singles. These two rooms share the main bathroom. The third bedroom has a queensize bed and ensuite. A sofa bed is availabe in the main lounge room. Cavendish is perfect for a group of friends or large family.

Linen including sheets, towels, blankets doonas and kitchen tea towels and hand towels are suplied and included in the tariff.
