FernTree Hideaway offers tranquil accommodation in a quiet seaside village in east Wellington.

Ride our private cable car, with seating for two, through native bush to FernTree Hideaway , or wander up the path through beech trees and ferns. Fantails, bellbirds and woodpigeons flit through the trees and the morepork sends out its 'More pork!' cry after the sun goes down.

We are a three-minute walk to a picturesque swimming beach, sailboat hire, galleries, cafes and restaurants, tennis courts, bush walks, bus route and ferry to central Wellington, which berths near Te Papa National Museum and The Stadium. A ten-minute stroll along the Days Bay seashore takes you to the charming village of Eastbourne. Historic Somes/Matiu Island is 10 minutes by ferry.
