Kawau Lodge — Kawau Island, Auckland

Come and relax on Kawau Island, only an hour's drive from Auckland city and a 30 minutes boat ride you will be surprised how close, yet so far away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Kawau Lodge, a Qualmark 4 star lodge is situated in North Cove and offers hosted accommodation in tastefully decorated ensuite king / twin/ queen bedrooms opening onto private deck areas with sea and bush views.

A delicious breakfast with a choice of continental or gourmet, served with fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and specialty muffins can be served in your room, outside on your deck or upstairs in the dining alcove.

During the day you can go for a kayak around the bay, maybe a sail in our sailing dinghy, or fishing off the jetty or for the more adventurous a bush walk and for those of you who would just like to kick back and relax you can enjoy the bird song while reading a book from our library.

In the evening enjoy a hosted evening dinner made from a fine selection of carefully prepared local produce.

You will be personally met and transferred from Sandspit out to the lodge onboard our power catamaran, Top Cat. or you can journey out to the island onboard the Kawau Kat mail run ferry boat which departs Sandspit daily at 10.30am. Ask us about our trips to Tiritiri Island bird sanctuary or Goat Island marine reserve. The alternative is to kick back, relax, and enjoy the peace and serenity of a car free island.
